7 Ways to Beat Stress

The stress of everyday life can get you down. 7 Ways to Beat Stress will revitalize you and make you your best.

Eat Well

We are what we eat. Try to stick to whole foods, avoid refined sugars and stick to good carbs, eat protein and vegetables and fuel your body with non processed foods. Eat several times a day smaller portions and eat till you’re just satisfied. Over eating can cause us to get tired and stressed. Drink lots of water that fills us up and if you eat less you’ll feel satisfied in a few minutes even if you think you are still hungry. You can do this by limiting your portions before you even eat. Eating well can change your whole day!

Exercise

I know-when am I going to find time to exercise? Well just do it. don’t set a time limit. Just find a few minutes walk, turn on the music and dance, do crunches, do a few yoga moves. Do something for a few minutes a few times a day. Don’t put pressure on yourself whatever you can do. It’ll get addictive and you’ll find yourself wanting to do more

Get Sleep

7-8 hours is recommended. Sleep is probably the one most important thing you can do for yourself to rejuvenate your body and mind. While you sleep your body and mind heals itself and prepares you for the stresses of the next day. Get your sleep!!

Engage in Pleasurable Activities

Take some “me time”. What do you enjoy? Do something you enjoy even if it is for 15 minutes. You can find 15 minutes a day to do something you enjoy. Whether its walking, watching TV, writing in a journal, having a glass of wine. Whatever it is do it.

Relaxation Techniques

Breath. Slow, deep breathing is very relaxing. We do it without thinking but deep, slow deliberate breathing for a few minutes can reduce stress. Meditation, and yoga are good stress reducers. If you don’t know how to do this go to You Tube and search you’ll find videos that will walk you through it. Do Yoga With Me is a free site that has yoga exercises. Take a few moments a day to engage in these techniques and you’ll reduce your stress on your body and mind.

Guided Imagery

Positive, relaxing imagery is a powerful way to relax and reduce stress. Imagine a beautiful, peaceful waterfall with all your senses. How does it look, sound, feel, smell? Be in the moment. experience the images. Again Google or You Tube can provide you with guided imagery. When we take ourselves out of our stressful environment and put ourselves in a relaxing, peaceful, beautiful environment stress will melt away.
